Hopefully we will be seeing a lot less of this ugly sight soon!

I am extremely pleased to announce that the city council overwhelming voted to ban single-use plastic bags today!   The vote passed 36-10!  As of August 2015 retailers with more 10,000 square feet will no longer offer plastic bags to their customers and smaller retailers (with the exception of independent non-franchise stores) will follow in 2016.   Why is this news so awesome?  Check out this video I made to advocate for the ban and you will not only be tapping your foot to the background music, you will be singing with joy about what this means for the future of Chicago.

It is true that plastic bags represent only a portion of the pollution in our city, but it is still a huge step forward!
